Slow Shutter Cam offers three capture modes to capture unique images:
MOTION BLUR: Equivalent to the shutter priority mode on a DSLR, the Motion Blur mode is perfect for creating ghost images, waterfall effects or suggesting movement in your photographs by adding a blur.
LIGHT TRAIL: The Light Trail mode allows you to 'paint' with light, show car light trails and fireworks or capture any other moving light in a unique way. Unlike shooting with a DSLR and being tied to specific rigid settings to obtain good results, the Light Trail mode takes care of the essentials, letting your creativity soar!
LOW LIGHT: In low light conditions, this capture mode allows the camera to accumulate every photon of light hitting the sensor. The longer the shutter speed, the more light it will accumulate. It’s a really great app, I’m just finding it hard to find places to take long exposure low light.
For northern lights
My iPhone XR sucks at capturing the northern light that suddenly appeared last night, and I downloaded the app on the spot and it worked!!! I have no knowledge in photography and just selected the “auto” iso. Got a few decent photos.

Excellent but…
The quality of the images is great. My only gripe is the interface and some extra features would be nice to have.
1) The Save / Edit / Clear flow is not great IMHO. I understand the logic behind it but I would get rid of the edit option entirely. When “saving” the image to the camera roll, I would immediately clear the capture and begin a new live view. Right now, after saving, I still have to clear and the ‘clear’ action asks for confirmation even when the image has been saved.
2) It would be nice if landscape photographs were automatically rotated :-)
3) The “lens” selection is limited, it would be great to have access to the 2X. Even better, it would awesome to have also 1.2X and 1.5X as ProCamera has. These are really useful virtual lenses based on the full 48MP crop, and *then* scaled to 12MP. These provide 28, 35, and 48mm equivalents.

Hi there! Sorry if it wasn’t clear — you can customize the flow under Settings → Workflow, including an option to automatically save and clear the capture. You can also disable the Clear Capture Warning option to skip the confirmation when clearing a capture. As for photo orientation, just make sure the device is in landscape when saving — the image will be saved accordingly. Looking ahead, support for the virtual 2× lens is on the way and will be available in an upcoming update. For further assistance, feel free to reach out using the Contact Us button in Settings.
