Description
Tab is the simple way to split a bill amongst friends. Snap a pic of the receipt and tap your items to claim them. Tax and tip are calculated for you. No more back-of-the-napkin algebra or typing in prices by hand!
Here’s how it works:
- Take a picture of your itemized receipt. Tab automatically detects all the items and prices.
- Select which items each person ordered. Everyone that has Tab on their phone can join onto the bill and select their own items - the app keeps everything synced in real-time.
- Multiple people can select the same item if they shared it.
- Tax and tip are automatically divided proportionally.
- If it's someone's birthday, you can split their total evenly among everyone else.
- View and share detailed summaries of your past bills

Overall decent app! Very useful
I don’t get the negative reviews - as a bill splitter with photo scan it’s pretty great. Even as a Canadian.
Devs - overall Ui feels okay, feels like lazy coding with how you’re handling nicknames, but overall the UX is pretty solid. I wish it was more useful to Canadians as we don’t have venmo, and the biggest let down is the request functionality.
I was hoping this would create a clean little jpg of the persons items and total cost breakdown with large cut-out price and their name on it, that I could send via iMessage. Maybe a custom QR code for easy etransfer functionality. Could be an easy branding opportunity - here’s an easy freebie :)

Favourite app!
This is the best app to split the bill, especially in the US. Just pass it around the table so people can claim their dishes. If it doesnt work perfectly, take a picture without the taxes and it works!
