The lower spec requirements is really good
Game runs really well on my iPhone 6, I’m glad I’m able to play this gem on this old iPhone. As far as gameplay goes, all the reviews of the game on other platforms are true even on this mobile version, it is as fun and strategic as it’s previous versions. Nothing much to say here that others have not said somewhere else.
Now for the bad part, the UI could use a little more work, icons for the relics and status effects on characters are unbearably small, trying to tap on those feels like you’re trying to put a thread into a needle hole. Trying to highlight a card (holding it up to read it’s effect) can lead to accidental misplays of the card, highlighted cards should get back in the hand as soon as I release my finger after I long press it to read it. These aren’t game-breaking stuffs, just criticism I feel that would improve the experience on mobile devices.
Very slow to update
This game is pretty solid as a mobile port, as long as your device has the right specs for it (I recommend playing this on a tablet rather than a phone as the controls get real tricky there).
The main complain, however, is that the mobile developer (Humble) has been incredibly slow at updating the game. For some context, the Steam version received a significant balance update in November 2020 and so far (in May 2021), Humble has not released any update on the iOS platform.
TL;DR: This game is a decent buy if you have a decent spec tablet but expect any updates to be incredibly slow (won’t be surprised if the developer continues to ignore updates at this rate).
