Taobao - Online Shopping App 17+

coming from an american person, im also chinese, with chinese parents. this app is great , i dont know why people are so mad? i saw one review that said “i have to use an account to search up things but i already have an ebay account so fix this plz!!!1!1!” 1st of all, of course you need a account? second, this app isnt linked to ebay so obviously you need a account. anyway, the shipping is free in my country (im in china) and its really cheap and easy to afford. the paying process is great overall and i can def use this to buy stuff. everything is so cute and only about 1-10 yuan for a small toy. the only problem here is that whenever i check where the person is delivering my package, they never usually move. i really need them to be a little quicker on what they’re doing cause its not worth my time. my package is 8 km away (which is really close) and the delivery person doesnt move. im writing this at 8 am so please tell your delivery people to be faster with my package!! anyway, i love this app so much cause the products are so high quality and all my family members buy from this app!! thank you taobao 🙏

The most recent update has completely screwed up the image search feature on this app. I’ve been using the taobao website for several years now, and only just tried out the app earlier this year. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much smoother it runs compared to the browser site. For a person whose only language is English, and with lots of help from a translation app, I myself find this app very easy to navigate and it is in fact one of my favorite apps/websites to shop on. I’ve had no problems with this app until the most recent updates, and I have to say that it’s both disappointing and frustrating. The image search feature on here was one of the best I’ve ever used as well as being the most helpful tool for me, especially due to the language barrier. I have, on countless occasions, been able to find the exact items I was looking for, just from the reverse image search all on it’s own because of the notice to detail. Unfortunately, with the recent update, the reverse image search has been reduced to a very diluted version of its previous superior quality. I really hope that this will be addressed and corrected soon.

I had to contact support over sixteen times to get my issue resolved. It was extremely frustrating such an issue of a “wrong phone number” caused me so much stress. I put in my US phone number instead of my Hong Kong number. Apparently, that causes the shipment to fail. Why does it even provide that option if it doesn’t work!? It took talking to 13 people to finally tell me that my package wouldn’t be able to be delivered to the pickup locker because of an incorrect phone number and I had to pick another destination. I was contacted by over five “specialists” that did nothing. The lack of communication was appalling, I was ghosted and left in the dark on multiple occasions. Customer support is friendly but useless. I still have two other packages to resolve this issue with and I am not looking forward to it. This experience has soured my overview of Taobao and I will never purchase another product from Taobao again. It never told me I couldn’t use a US phone number but that was the cause of my package not being delivered.

So much stress from getting ghosted. My package eventually arrived to my friends place after I had left Hong Kong. It arrived but support is absolutely useless.
