A lot of Potential!

I pre-registered for this app, so that can tell you a little bit of how excited I was. Well I think as of today (July 16th) it’s a pretty solid app FOR the socialization/customization aspects. However, some serious changes need to happen when it comes to the regulations.
There is still no separation of minors/adults even when given the option of 18+ at the start of account creation. That seriously needs to be fixed. I have seen countless accounts with predatory behavior or just plain inappropriate content (of course reported). Although reporting doesn’t exactly feel like it does anything, I hope they’re listening.
Bugs & crashes are still happening. Granted I know it’s still a very early app as of right now, but the dev team hasn’t really given us much to work with. There’s been no updates (as of today) on what users have been experiencing.
All in all, I give a 4 star out of 5 because I REALLY want to see this app go far. IF the devs handle things, I see this becoming as popular as twitter or instagram even. It’s just so unique and really embraces the value of connecting with others.

There’s a Problem…

Now to start off, I really like NoPlace. I thought this would be just another Wizz, Purp, etc copycat, but this app really is just fun to post about random stuff! I love the customization that’s present (and wouldn’t mind more options) and everyone’s profile is super unique. I like the idea of stars for your main topics, and how there’s hardly a group or fandom left out. I think for more engagement across people with the same stars, maybe an incorporation of forums for those topics can be considered, kinda like Amino but smaller. Overall if you like the ideas presented then you should totally download it. That being said, I have a HUGE problem. I exited out of the app earlier this week and tried to get back in one day after that, but I was presented with the account creation screen. I thought I could just enter my number and get back to my account, BUT whenever I put my number in, the app said that my account is no longer active, which makes no sense as I had never logged out or deleted my account. I don’t think that I had been reported since I last exited the app, and I don’t know how the reporting system works if I was reported in some way. I have sent 3 emails to the support team, but have heard nothing. I figured that if I can’t reach them through email then I might as well try all my outlets including this review. I’m really confused on why this has happened and don’t really know how to resolve the issue.

Good app! (But… I have a bug…)

I’ve been having a really fun time on this app and have met plenty of new people that I relate to a lot! The concept is clever and my favorite feature is the amount of customization you have when creating your profile to make everyone’s page as unique as they can be and contrast so much compared to the thousands and thousands of accounts on this platform. By far has my vote as one of the best social media platforms there are.

However, as of writing this review, I can not access the group chats/dms page on the app. Everytime I do, it just shows me that it’s loading however it never loads at all. I’ve closed and opened the app several times and have every uninstalled and reinstalled to see if that will make a difference. No luck. I don’t know if this is a bug for everyone else or it’s just me. Anyways, it’s a really infuriating thing I’ve have to deal with and hope eventually it will be fixed.

Overall, pretty solid app and gets my thumbs up!

Not very good

I was so excited for the app when it released, now I don’t use it at all. Its concept is cool but not really executed well. The whole point of an algorithm is to have content that is tailored to the consumer so they can stay on the app, and without a proper category system or basic features like hashtags, it’s just plain boring and not eye catching. There are some features that I will give credit to, that being boosting and customization. Other than that though, nothing really adds up to being a new fun app that everyone would want. Another thing is that it can quickly get annoying to constantly update everyone on what you’re doing or your current life, which brings up the next point. The amount of details you would normally give to the app is insane, especially in your updates and what you’re currently doing. Without ads or an algorithm, you cannot really make any money, which the app wants. See the connection there? This app is what you would call a data farm. The founder has also been outed as a con-artist and is not at all trustworthy in any sense. Would I overall recommend this app? No. You are better off using those other annoying apps like Wizz and what not.

love the app—BUT,

hi! so i am a more younger individual (13) on the app, and id like to say, i really love it! i'm on it daily and i've made plenty of friends but there are some problems i feel i have to express; notifications and new updates.

I really think for an app with a lot of personality adding a notification sound would add on to that and would also be very helpful for not only me but others (so i do not leave people on delivered!) and i think the new update (with the themes) is really upsetting for a large part of the population on the app. its pretty much bland now and i enjoy being able to see the personality people have to their own profiles and do my best to add my own personality to mine, so the removal of the colors of themes was pretty disappointing. while I'm still here, I'd like to say that overall noplace is a rly fun app to be on in my experience and ive already made some pretty amazing friends!! :–)

Has Potential….

The app is innately aesthetically pleasing and offers quite a bit of room for customization and personality to shine through. There are some corky tags you can add to your profile to find likeminded individuals, some pretty standard questions, and the ability to communicate with one another. That said, there are some things that could be enhanced or optimized, and that I feel was overlooked. For example, age restrictions. It feels a bit odd clicking to engage with someone, only to find out that they are 10 years younger than you. Further, when wanting to interact with the infinite wall of thought, the only way to do so is by actually commenting. I would like to see some unique reactions, possibly mood updates, the ability to add more photos, a feed of trending topics or songs, local events near by…

Anyhow, tbd. Nevertheless, proud of someone trying to break into the space and beat out mega-corps. I’ll stick around for a while to see where this goes.

Lag isn’t their fault. 5 star app.

Day 2 of use update:

Before I start I want to say I see copious amounts of reviews stating that it’s “lagging and hardly functional.” The app released and since it was so highly sought for — the traffic of people creating accounts, liking posts, posting updates, making themes, closing the app and reopening it (which doesn’t help server-sided lag) caused the app to have issues. Anyone who left a review the first day is not someone who has the ability to appropriately criticize or critique this app.

Anyways back to the point, I’m on day two and though the app had minuscule crashing and logging errors on day 1 — it’s cleaned up nicely. I highly enjoy majority of the features the app offers, and it has so much room for improvement, development and features. I’m so eager to see the future of this app. I’ll update this review accordingly throughout such. 👍

I’ll stick around

I have been waiting a few months for this app to come out and was disappointed every time I saw the date get pushed back. The second I got the notification the app was live i immediately went and made my account. For it only being live a few days, I think the app is absolutely great. I feel like too many people are expecting it to be at the same level as Instagram after less then a week. It’s extremely easy to connect with new people. Everyone is so friendly on the app and eager to speak to each other. I wish you could filter out what age range to see on your news feed though. My app hasn’t lagged at all and has worked fine. I like seeing everyone’s themes and being able to customize my own. I know there’s going to be tons of updates in the future

the downfall of noplace

I loved this app when it was first released to the public. I used to post my every thought and I really enjoyed the boost feature. Then they started adding new updates that no one asked for. I haven't really enjoyed it since the start update. It was really cool in theory but when they added it they also changed how the notifications work. Now I don't get notifications about people interacting with me, which was my favorite part. I don't get notifications for boosts anymore and I know other people don't either so it feels pointless to interact. The only notifications I get now are the app telling me one of my friends posted (like every other week). I used to get spammed with notifications about my friends posting in our shared stars which made me find the stars to just be annoying. Eventually I figured out how to turn those off but now it's like radio silence. I really wish there was a way to customize what I wanted to be notified about. I really miss the feeling of community that this app used to bring me.

support not helping :/

so i’ve been using this app for like 2 years (i think, i was in the beta stages about a month or two after they started) and it was going great and everything until there was an update and it said “unauthorized to make changes to this account” ?
i emailed the developer team in late jan/early feb of 2025 and talked back and forth for a bit then was ghosted. i then opened another ticket and was ghosted again. i then opened ANOTHER ticket asking if i can just make a new account and one of the developers transfer all my levels and badges over to my new account and no response. the only way i can use my account is on the website where i asked if this has been resolved for anyone else and people told me they’ve not been replying to other users with this issue and it’s better to just make a new account BUT i cant even log out to make a new account.

that wouldn’t be as big of an issue if i wasn’t ghosted three times by the devs :/…the app is really fun but the team needs better help.
